DARTER COST Virtual Workshop 2021- 19th-21st July 2021 (online)

This year, DARTER workshop went virtual due to well-known COVID19 restrictions. Still, the organizing committee did a wonderful job in putting up together a 3-morning programme that covered all the hot topics in the RNA therapeutics field and provided a wonderful opportunity for discussion. It took place on 19th-21st July 2021.

Each day had a major scientific session, devoted to each of the topics covered by the different DARTER working groups. On day one, we focused attentions on delivery systems (WG1). Then, on day two we will moved on to model systems (WG2) and, finally, on day three we discussed safety and toxicology issues of RNA therapies (WG3). All these sessions were carefully designed to bring us some of the most relevant works in the field, with lectures from top experts. Also, the great line-up of chairs enrolled, has greatly contributed to promote a fruitful discussion, such as the ones we had at our previous in-person meetings.

There were also a few other sessions worth mentioning: a full session addressing negative results and reminding how they can turn into positive developments; another on the results of some of the DARTER-sponsored Short Term Scientific Missions (STSM); and two “elevator pitch sessions”. These particular sessions were a great opportunity for some of our Early Career Researchers to present their work. Finally, there was still time to hear our dissemination partners (WG4) on a small slot, which provided an opportunity to discuss future actions to promote DARTER cost action and communicate its results.

The detailed program can be found here.
